Glassware
The glass is a very former practice profoundly anchored in the cultural history of our country. The Punic has inherited this practice of their ancestors les Phéniciens, to adapt it and to develop it in Carthage and Kerkouane.
After the decline of Roman Empire, the Tunisian glassworkers continued to produce the glass in the traditional way of the blowing outdoors or in a mould.
The Muslim Middle Age witnesses the settling down in Tunisia a crafty glassworker who knows a particular development following the example of the other countries of the Islamic east: delicacy of the molded and cut ornaments and especially wealth of decorations gold-coloured and enamelled of the works.
