Biological food
A biological food is a food produced according to the principles of the organic farming.
There is a 5 % tolerance for ingredients such as sea salt which, without being biological food, are natural products without chemical element of synthesis added by the man.
At the level of the nutritional value, a report of the year 2003 of the French Agency of Sanitary Safety of Food , concluded that " the available data showed, in a general way, for limited situations, few significant differences, and reproducible, between the chemical composition of raw materials stemming from organic farming and those stemming from conventional agriculture. ".
However, in the evaluation of diverse sanitary risks (pesticides, nitrates, heavy metals, mycotoxines, dioxins, veterinarian medicines, animal flours, parasites), such food benefits from a specifications which makes them globally more safe than the products of the conventional agriculture.
