2010.03.01Export 7435 tons of citrus
The quantities exported citrus reached until February 2, 2010, about 7435 tons, the newspaper "El Falleh. The main customers are the Tunisian citrus France, which alone accounts for nearly 84% of exports of Maltese , 16% of these exports go to other markets, including the Libyan market. The domestic production of citrus has been a remarkable development, with an annual production of about 300 000 tonnes against 240 000 tons in recent years.
The export potential is estimated at 25 thousand tons, including 23 thousand tons of Malta.
These positive results are the fruit of efforts by countries to improve the competitiveness of the agricultural sector.
