The plastics industry has 250 companies with more than or equal to 10 people of which 62 are totally exporting.
In 2007, production of plastic articles in Tunisia reached 734 million dinars against 396 million dinars in 2003.
In 2007, the value added of industry was 29% of the value of production.
Investments increased from 44.9 million dinars in 2003 to 25 million dinars in 2007
Exports have grown steadily, from 116 million dinars in 2003 to 234 million dinars in 2007, a rate of average annual growth of 23%.
The main customers of Tunisia are France, Germany and Italy, the respective share is 58%, 9%, 9% of total exports.
